The Newnan Cougars baseball team scored 9 runs and held the host Northgate Vikings to 5 in the Cougars non-league win on Tuesday.

The Cougars now hold a 4-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Starr's Mill for a non-league test on Thursday, March 20. Newnan will play a Panthers team coming off a 5-5 non-league East Coweta (Sharpsburg, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 8-3.

With the defeat, Northgate drops to 11-3 on the year. The Vikings travel to Fayette County (Fayetteville, GA) to play the Tigers in a non-league test on Wednesday, March 19. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 12-2. Fayette County won 8-4 in their recent non-league test against Sandy Creek (Tyrone, GA)
