The Covington Lions softball team scored 10 runs and held the host Hammond Tornadoes to 3 in the Lions league win on Tuesday.

The Lions now possess a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ponchatoula for a 5A District 6 battle on Thursday, March 20. Covington will confront a Green Wave team coming off a 6-5 league win over Mandeville (Mandeville, LA). The Green Wave record now stands at 9-9.

With the loss, Hammond moves to 2-17 on the season. The Tornadoes travel to Mandeville (Mandeville, LA) to confront the Skippers in a 5A District 6 battle on Thursday, March 20. The Skippers come into the battle with a record of 8-3. Mandeville lost 6-5 in their recent league battle against Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA)
