The Walnut Grove Wildcats triumphed over the host Anna Coyotes softball squad by a count of 19-3 in Wednesday's league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats meet the Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX) in a 5A Region II District 9 challenge, on Tuesday, March 24. Walnut Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 13-9 season record.

The Coyotes (11-11) will now prepare for their battle against Denison (Denison, TX). The Yellow Jackets come into the 5A Region II District 9 battle with a 14-10 record. In their last battle, Denison ran past Sherman (Sherman, TX), 7-3, in a league battle.
