Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 10-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Site for a 2A Region 1 challenge on Monday, March 21.

With the loss, Walnut falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Baldwyn (Baldwyn, MS) to battle the Bearcats in a 2A Region 1 challenge on Monday, March 21. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-4. Baldwyn lost 3-0 in their recent league challenge against New Site (New Site, MS)
