South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), 7-5 in a league test.

With the win, South Caldwell upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Spartans host Freedom (Morganton, NC) to battle the Patriots in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Wednesday, March 20. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 3-5. Freedom lost 7-3 in their recent league test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)

With the defeat, Watauga falls to 5-2 on the season. The Pioneers host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, March 22. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 4-5. Alexander Central lost 9-2 in their recent non-league test against South Iredell (Statesville, NC)
