Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) supporters were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC), 6-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Patriots confront the Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) in a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge, on Friday, March 22. Pinecrest will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Yellow Jackets enter the challenge with a 9-2 record after their 6-0 non-league win over Overhills (Spring Lake, NC).

The Cavaliers now possess a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Pauls for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 20. Southern Lee will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 9-0 non-league loss to Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-5.
