Angleton Wildcats (Angleton, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Manvel Mavericks (Manvel, TX), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 17-5 record. They take the field next when they host Ball for a 5A Region III District 18 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Angleton will battle a Tornadoes squad coming off a 10-2 non-league win over Legacy School of Sport Sciences (Spring, TX). The Tornadoes record now stands at 7-15.

With the loss, Manvel falls to 14-8 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Friendswood (Friendswood, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a 5A Region III District 18 challenge on Friday, March 22. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 13-5. Friendswood won 9-2 in their recent league challenge against Texas City (Texas City, TX)
