Dayton Broncos (Dayton, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Porter Spartans (Porter, TX), 7-2 in a league challenge.

The Broncos now own a 18-5 record. They take the field next when they host Nacogdoches for a 5A Region II District 16 challenge on Friday, March 22. Dayton will battle a Dragons squad coming off a 9-0 league loss to Kingwood Park (Kingwood, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 11-3.

With the loss, Porter falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Spartans host Lufkin (Lufkin, TX) to battle the Panthers in a 5A Region II District 16 challenge on Friday, March 22. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 12-9. Lufkin lost 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Huntsville (Huntsville, TX)
