Jacksonville Fightin' Indians (Jacksonville, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rusk Eagles (Rusk, TX), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The Fightin' Indians now sport a 15-8 record. They take the field next when they host Bullard for a 4A Region III District 18 challenge on Friday, March 22. Jacksonville will face a Panthers squad coming off a 5-1 league win over Hudson (Lufkin, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 15-5.

With the loss, Rusk falls to 14-8 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Palestine (Palestine, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a 4A Region III District 18 test on Friday, March 22. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 11-9. Palestine won 9-6 in their recent league test against Madisonville (Madisonville, TX)
