La Grange Leopards (La Grange, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Smithville Tigers (Smithville, TX), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Leopards now own a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Taylor for a 4A Region III District 22 challenge on Friday, March 22. La Grange will battle a Ducks squad coming off a 11-0 league win over Manor New Tech (Manor, TX). The Ducks record now stands at 10-11.

With the loss, Smithville falls to 10-6 on the campaign. The Tigers host Caldwell (Caldwell, TX) to battle the Hornets in a 4A Region III District 22 challenge on Friday, March 22. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 7-8. Caldwell won 10-9 in their recent league challenge against Giddings (Giddings, TX)
