McLeod Longhorns (McLeod, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Maud Cardinals (Maud, TX), 10-0 in a league challenge.

The Longhorns now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Linden-Kildare for a 2A Region III District 18 challenge on Friday, March 22. McLeod will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 5-4 league loss to Harleton (Harleton, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 14-6.

With the loss, Maud falls to 11-7 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Bowie (Simms, TX) to battle the Pirates in a 2A Region III District 18 challenge on Friday, March 22. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 11-6. Bowie won 9-4 in their recent league challenge against Harts Bluff (Mt. Pleasant, TX)
