Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), 12-0 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Richlands for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 20. Topsail will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 16-0 non-league win over Northside - Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, North Brunswick falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Scorpions travel to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to battle the Wildcats in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Wednesday, March 20. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. New Hanover lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)
