Vancleave Bulldogs (Vancleave, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gulfport Admirals (Gulfport, MS), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pass Christian for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 7.

With the loss, Gulfport falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Admirals host DeSoto Central (Southaven, MS) to battle the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 18. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 4-1.
