Nacogdoches Dragons (Nacogdoches, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hemphill Hornets (Hemphill, TX), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Dragons now sport a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Colmesneil for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. Nacogdoches will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 30-0 non-league win over Center (Center, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-1.

With the loss, Hemphill falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Hornets host Brookeland (Brookeland, TX) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-2. Brookeland won 11-9 in their recent non-league battle against Silsbee (Silsbee, TX)
