Eunice Cardinals (Eunice, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Jal Panthers (Jal, NM), 53-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Eunice upgrades its record to 22-5 on the season. The Cardinals host Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM) to clash with the Chiefs in a non-league bout on Saturday, March 9. The Chiefs go into the bout with a record of 14-13. Mescalero Apache lost 58-44 in their recent non-league bout against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Mesa Vista Trojans (Ojo Caliente, NM) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, March 9. Jal will attempt to upgrade on its 14-13 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 22-5 record after their 56-54 non-league win over Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM).
