Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Ore City Rebels (Ore City, TX), 13-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Buckeyes now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they host Tatum for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Gilmer will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 9-4 non-league loss to Carthage (Carthage, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 2-11.

With the loss, Ore City falls to 1-16 on the campaign. The Rebels host Union Grove (Gladewater, TX) to battle the Lions in a 1A Region III District 19 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 0-7.
