The Sam Houston Broncos softball team scored 12 runs and limited the host West Ouachita Chiefs to 6 in the Broncos non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Sam Houston moves its record to 3-7 on the year. The Broncos host Southside (Youngsville, LA) to clash with the Sharks in a 5A District 3 game on Tuesday, March 5. The Sharks go into the battle with a record of 7-5.

The Chiefs now sport a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to Ouachita Parish for a 5A District 2 battle on Wednesday, March 6. West Ouachita will meet a Lions squad coming off a 8-1 non-league loss to Pine Prairie (Pine Prairie, LA). The Lions record now stands at 5-6.
