The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Yoakum Bulldogs (Yoakum, TX) and the visiting Smithville Tigers (Smithville, TX), saw Yoakum's softball squad nip Smithville by a count of 9-3.

The Bulldogs now sport a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rice Consolidated for a 3A Region IV District 25 match on Tuesday, March 5. Yoakum will face a Raiders squad coming off a 10-2 non-league loss to St. Paul (Shiner, TX). The Raiders record now stands at 0-12.

With the loss, Smithville falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Cuero (Cuero, TX) to face the Gobblers in a non-league match on Saturday, March 2. The Gobblers enter the match with a record of 12-1. Cuero won 15-0 in their recent non-league match against Spring Woods (Houston, TX)
