Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Ashe County upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Huskies travel to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, March 21. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 4-4. Alexander Central lost 7-3 in their recent non-league test against North Davidson (Lexington, NC)

With the defeat, North Wilkes falls to 4-5 on the season. The Vikings travel to Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to battle the Trojans in a non-league test on Tuesday, March 21. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 1-7. Alleghany lost 15-3 in their recent league test against South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC)
