North Carolina High School Softball - Swain County bounces Asheville

March 20, 2023: Bryson City, NC 28713

Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Maroon Devils now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Robbinsville for a Smoky Mountain 1A challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Swain County will face a Black Knights squad coming off a 15-7 non-league win over Copper Basin (Copperhill, TN). The Black Knights record now stands at 5-1.

With the loss, Asheville falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Cougars host A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC) to face the Rockets in a The Mountain 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. A.C. Reynolds won 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Madison (Marshall, NC)
