In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Hoover Cardinals volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Gompers Prep Academy Eagles.

The Cardinals (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA). The Matadors come into the non-league challenge with a 4-14 record. In their last challenge, Mount Miguel was nudged by Steele Canyon (Spring Valley, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Eagles meet the Southwest SD Raiders (San Diego, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, March 21. Gompers Prep Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to San Diego Academy (National City, CA).
