The Magoffin County Hornets softball team scored 14 runs and held the visiting Morgan County Cougars to 10 in the Hornets non-league win on Thursday.

The Hornets now sport a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Johnson Central for a District 57 battle on Friday, March 21. Magoffin County will encounter a Golden Eagles team coming off a 11-8 non-league loss to Rowan County (Morehead, KY). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Morgan County moves to 0-2 on the season. The Cougars host West Carter (Olive Hill, KY) to encounter the Comets in a District 62 battle on Friday, March 21. The Comets come into the battle with a record of 1-1. West Carter lost 15-1 in their recent non-league battle against Bath County (Owingsville, KY)
