The Poplarville Hornets triumphed over the host Pass Christian Pirates softball squad by a count of 6-1 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Hornets meet the Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, March 21. Poplarville will attempt to upgrade on its 9-5 season record. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a 14-3 record after their 7-2 non-league win over Stringer (Stringer, MS).

The Pirates (8-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Pearl River Central (Carriere, MS). The Blue Devils enter the non-league challenge with a 6-5 record. In their last challenge, Pearl River Central was routed by Stone (Wiggins, MS), 10-0, in a non-league challenge.
