The Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX) baseball trounced the visiting Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX), 8-1 in Friday's league challenge.

Next up, the Sandies encounter the Plainview Bulldogs (Plainview, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 bout, on Saturday, March 21. Amarillo will attempt to upgrade on its 17-3 season record. The Bulldogs enter the bout with a 5-11 record after their 6-1 league loss to Monterey (Lubbock, TX).

The Mustangs (10-9) will now prepare for their bout against Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX). The Pirates enter the 5A Region I District 3 bout with a 6-6 record. In their last bout, Lubbock-Cooper edged Palo Duro (Amarillo, TX), 10-0, in a league bout.
