East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) supporters were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer squad triumph over the host North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC), 7-1 in a league match.

The Cardinals now sport a 4-1 record. They play next when they host North Surry for a Foothills 2A match on Friday, March 24. East Surry will encounter a Greyhounds squad coming off a 10-1 league loss to Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Greyhounds record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, North Wilkes drops to 3-3 on the season. The Vikings travel to Elkin (Elkin, NC) to encounter the Buckin' Elks in a non-league match on Wednesday, March 22. The Buckin' Elks come into the match with a record of 1-4. Elkin lost 4-1 in their recent non-league match against West Stokes (King, NC)
