Wakefield Warriors (Arlington, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Yorktown Patriots (Arlington, VA), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Yorktown for a challenge on Monday, April 17.

With the loss, Yorktown falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Washington-Liberty (Arlington, VA) to face the Generals in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. The Generals enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. Washington-Liberty won 19-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Langley (McLean, VA)
