The Fort Chiswell Pioneers softball team scored 5 runs and limited the visiting George Wythe Maroons to 4 in the Pioneers league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Fort Chiswell improves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Grayson County (Independence, VA) to clash with the Blue Devils in a Mountain Empire game on Friday, March 24. The Blue Devils come into the game with a record of 0-2.

In their next game, the Maroons clash with the Rural Retreat Indians (Rural Retreat, VA) in a non-league game, on Thursday, March 23. George Wythe will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Indians come into the game with a 1-0 record after their 22-0 non-league win over Narrows (Narrows, VA).
