Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Gray Stone Day Knights (Misenheimer, NC), 14-1 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 9-0 record. They take the field next when they host Covenant Day for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. Union Academy will battle a Lions squad coming off a 6-2 non-league win over Metrolina Christian Academy (Indian Trail, NC). The Lions record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Gray Stone Day falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Knights host Robinson (Concord, NC) to battle the Bulldogs in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 0-7. Robinson lost 19-3 in their recent non-league challenge against South Rowan (China Grove, NC)
