Ritchie County Rebels (Ellenboro, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wirt County Tigers (Elizabeth, WV), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Rebels now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Paden City for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 22. Ritchie County will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 16-4 non-league loss to Cameron (Cameron, WV). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Wirt County falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Ravenswood (Ravenswood, WV) to battle the Red Devils in a Little Kanawha challenge on Friday, March 24. The Red Devils enter the challenge with a record of 2-1.
