In Thursday's league game, the host South Effingham Mustangs baseball team scored a tight 7-6 victory over the Lakeside Panthers.
The Mustangs (11-7) will now prepare for their game against Brunswick (Brunswick, GA). The Pirates go into the 6A Area 2 game with a 11-7 record. In their last game, Brunswick tipped Richmond Hill (Richmond Hill, GA), 12-3, in a non-league game.
The Panthers (4-11) will now prepare for their game against Evans (Evans, GA). The Knights go into the 6A Area 2 game with a 14-5 record. In their last game, Evans tipped Effingham County (Springfield, GA), 6-4, in a league game.
