The Union Pines Vikings baseball team scored 6 runs and limited the visiting Scotland Fighting Scots to 5 in the Vikings league victory on Thursday.
The Vikings (4-6) will now prepare for their match against Richmond (Rockingham, NC). The Raiders go into the Sandhills 3A/4A match with a 7-2 record. In their last match, Richmond edged Hoke County (Raeford, NC), 15-5, in a league match.
The Fighting Scots (6-2) will now prepare for their match against Western Harnett (Lillington, NC). The Eagles go into the non-league match with a 4-7 record. In their last match, Western Harnett edged Westover (Fayetteville, NC), 13-0, in a league match.
