Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), 9-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Buccaneers confront the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge, on Tuesday, March 26. Laney will attempt to better on its 5-1 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 10-1 league loss to Ashley (Wilmington, NC).

The Scorpions now have a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host Topsail for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 26. North Brunswick will confront a Pirates team coming off a 7-0 league win over New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 7-0.
