Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders (Raleigh, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sanderson Spartans (Raleigh, NC), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Crusaders now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Jordan-Matthews for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. Cardinal Gibbons will battle a Jets squad coming off a 17-9 league win over Seaforth (Pittsboro, NC). The Jets record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Sanderson falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Athens Drive (Raleigh, NC) to battle the Jaguars in a Cap Six 4A challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 7-1. Athens Drive lost 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Broughton (Raleigh, NC)
