Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) and the visiting Clarksdale Wildcats (Clarksdale, MS), witnessed Lafayette's softball squad prevail over Clarksdale by a count of 12-0.

The Commodores now sport a 13-4 record. They play next when they travel to Brighton for a non-league match on Friday, March 22. Lafayette will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Tipton-Rosemark Academy (Millington, TN). The Cardinals record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Clarksdale moves to 0-2 on the season. The Wildcats travel to New Hope (Columbus, MS) to face the Trojans in a 5A Region 1 match on Thursday, March 28. The Trojans go into the match with a record of 3-3. New Hope won 11-3 in their recent league match against West Point (West Point, MS)
