Enka Jets (Enka, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Jets now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Robbinsville for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. Enka will face a Black Knights squad coming off a 6-2 league win over Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 6-0.

With the loss, McDowell falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Titans travel to Asheville (Asheville, NC) to face the Cougars in a The Mountain 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 1-6. Asheville lost 18-0 in their recent league challenge against T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC)
