Salem Wildcats (Tylertown, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Lumberton Panthers (Lumberton, MS), 18-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host Forrest County Agricultural for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 22. Salem will face a Aggies squad coming off a 12-1 league loss to Columbia (Columbia, MS). The Aggies record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Lumberton falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to East Marion (Columbia, MS) to face the Eagles in a 1A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 4-11.
