In Friday's league game, the visiting Appling County Pirates baseball team scored a close 3-2 win over the Pierce County Bears.
The Pirates (9-9) will now prepare for their game against Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA). The Warriors go into the AA Region 3 game with a 6-12 record. In their last game, Tattnall County was tipped by Statesboro (Statesboro, GA), 5-3, in a non-league game.
Next, the Bears play the Crisp County Cougars (Cordele, GA) in a AA Region 3 game, on Tuesday, March 25. Pierce County will attempt to improve on its 12-5 season record. The Cougars go into the game with a 5-13 record after their 16-3 league loss to Cook (Adel, GA).
