The Needles Mustangs (Needles, CA) baseball trounced the visiting Awaken Christian Lions (Las Vegas, NV), 14-1 in Friday's league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they host Lincoln County for a 2A Southern challenge on Friday, March 28. Needles will clash with a Lynx team coming off a 16-15 league win over White Pine (Ely, NV). The Lynx record now stands at 5-5.

With the defeat, Awaken Christian drops to 4-2 on the year. The Lions travel to Laughlin (Laughlin, NV) to clash with the Cougars in a 2A Southern challenge on Thursday, March 27. The Cougars go into the challenge with a record of 0-4. Laughlin lost 13-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Sandy Valley (Sandy Valley, NV)
