In Friday's league game, the host R-S Central Hilltoppers baseball team scored a close 8-1 victory over the Chase Trojans.

The Hilltoppers (7-2) will now prepare for their game against East Rutherford (Forest City, NC). The Cavaliers enter the Mountain Foothills 7 1A/2A game with a 9-0 record. In their last game, East Rutherford held off Brevard (Brevard, NC), 6-0, in a league game.

Next, the Trojans face the Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC) in a non-league game, on Monday, March 24. Chase will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Chargers enter the game with a 7-3 record after their 24-1 league win over Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC).
