The Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) baseball trounced the host Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), 10-3 in Friday's league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they host Cuthbertson for a Southern Carolina 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 25. Marvin Ridge will clash with a Cavaliers team coming off a 10-7 league win over Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 10-0.

With the defeat, Porter Ridge drops to 3-5 on the year. The Pirates travel to Weddington (Matthews, NC) to clash with the Warriors in a Southern Carolina 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 25. The Warriors go into the challenge with a record of 6-2. Weddington won 10-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC)
