The crowd at Friday's league battle between the North Hopkins Panthers (Sulphur Springs, TX) and the host Saltillo Lions (Saltillo, TX), saw North Hopkins's baseball team gain a win over Saltillo by a tally of 17-1.

The Panthers (14-2) will now prepare for their battle against Wolfe City (Wolfe City, TX). The Wolves enter the 2A Region II District 12 battle with a 4-5 record. In their last battle, Wolfe City was overwhelmed by Cooper (Cooper, TX), 10-9, in a league battle.

Next, the Lions face the Campbell Indians (Campbell, TX) in a 2A Region II District 12 battle, on Monday, March 24. Saltillo will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Indians enter the battle with a 3-9 record after their 18-5 league loss to Bland (Merit, TX).
