The Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) softball routed the host Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 21-2 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Lancers now sport a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alleghany for a non-league outing on Saturday, March 22. Amherst County will encounter a Cougars team coming off a 22-1 non-league win over Staunton (Staunton, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Nelson County moves to 0-2 on the season. The Governors travel to Amherst County (Amherst, VA) to encounter the Lancers in a non-league outing on Wednesday, March 26.
