The Amherst County Lancers softball team scored 17 runs and held the host Nelson County Governors to 1 in the Lancers non-league win on Friday.

The Lancers now possess a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lebanon for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 22. Amherst County will confront a Pioneers team coming off a 9-1 non-league win over Castlewood (Castlewood, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Nelson County moves to 0-2 on the season. The Governors travel to Amherst County (Amherst, VA) to confront the Lancers in a non-league battle on Wednesday, March 26. The Lancers come into the battle with a record of 2-2. Amherst County lost 7-5 in their recent non-league battle against Auburn (Riner, VA)
