The Lorena Leopards triumphed over the visiting La Vega Pirates softball squad by a count of 11-1 in Friday's league challenge.

Next, the Leopards meet the Gatesville Hornets (Gatesville, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 challenge, on Tuesday, March 25. Lorena will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Hornets enter the challenge with a 15-7 record after their 25-1 league win over Connally (Waco, TX).

The Pirates (1-8) will now prepare for their challenge against China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Cougars enter the 4A Region III District 23 challenge with a 11-7 record. In their last challenge, China Spring was routed by Robinson (Robinson, TX), 9-6, in a league challenge.
