The Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) baseball trounced the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 17-1 in Tuesday's league contest.

Coming up next, the Cougars play the Mooresville Blue Devils (Mooresville, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, March 24. Alexander Central will attempt to better on its 8-0 season record. The Blue Devils enter the contest with a 3-5 record after their 8-4 non-league loss to West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC).

The Huskies now sport a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Forbush for a non-league contest on Thursday, March 24. Ashe County will play a Falcons squad coming off a 7-0 league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 3-5.
