Dominguez Dons (Compton, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Compton Early College Rising Phoenix (Compton, CA), 14-13 in a non-league challenge.

The Dons now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Warren for a San Gabriel Valley challenge on Tuesday, March 29. Dominguez will face a Bears squad coming off a 8-2 league loss to Downey (Downey, CA). The Bears record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Compton Early College falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Rising phoenix travel to Wiseburn- Da Vinci (El Segundo, CA) to face the Wolves in a Mulholland challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Wiseburn- Da Vinci won 19-8 in their recent league challenge against Animo Leadership (Inglewood, CA)
