La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Economedes Jaguars (Edinburg, TX), 13-1 in a league challenge.

The Coyotes now own a 17-5 record. They take the field next when they host Mission for a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, March 25. La Joya will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 11-1 league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 11-4.

With the loss, Economedes falls to 3-10 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX) to battle the Cougars in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, March 25. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 12-12. Edinburg North won 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX)
