The Independence Patriots routed the host Garinger Wildcats softball squad by a final score of 18-1 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Patriots (8-1) will now prepare for their battle against Hough (Cornelius, NC). The Huskies go into the non-league battle with a 9-1 record. In their last battle, Hough notched a victory over Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC), 12-0, in a league battle.

The Wildcats now possess a 0-8 record. They play next when they travel to Charlotte Catholic for a Southwestern 4A battle on Tuesday, March 29.
