North Carolina High School Softball - Lejeune nudges Jones

March 22, 2022: Trenton, NC 28585

Lejeune Devil Pups (Camp Lejeune, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jones Trojans (Trenton, NC), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Devil Pups now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pamlico County for a Coastal Plains 1A/2A challenge on Monday, March 28. Lejeune will battle a Hurricanes squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Riverside-Martin (Williamston, NC). The Hurricanes record now stands at 8-1.

With the loss, Jones falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to East Carteret (Beaufort, NC) to clash with the Mariners in a Coastal Plains 1A/2A game on Friday, March 25. The Mariners come into the game with a record of 5-3.
