North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Black Hawks now sport a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Smoky Mountain for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 24. North Buncombe will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 7-4 league win over West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, McDowell falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Titans host Watauga (Boone, NC) to face the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 24. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. Watauga lost 18-0 in their recent league challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)
